IDF Downs Hezbollah Rocket Said Aimed at Mossad HQ
War ratchets up a notch as David's Sling and Iron Dome Interceptors tasked with thwarting hostile missiles and explosive drone swarms on three borders
Woken up by sirens in Tel Aviv, and trying to work out if it’s Hamas, the Houthis, Hezbollah, Iran, Shia militias in Iraq or Syria, or someone else trying to kill me in my bed this morning. #IsraelUnderAttack"
[Israeli air defenses reported to Kan Israel News that ONE rocket or guided missile was fired from Lebanon towards Tel Aviv at 06:30, and was shot out of the sky. There are no reports of physical injury or damage in the first-ever such rocket attack from the Iranian-backed terror entity.
GLZ Army radio reported that the munition was intercepted by a mid-range David's Sling rocket, due to the at least 120km/75mi distance from Lebanon.
This is the second time Hezbollah has fired toward the congested central Gush Dan region since an exploding UAV was shot down on Aug. 25th as it reportedly flew towards strategic Intelligence facilities between Tel Aviv and Herzilya, after the assassination of the group's "Chief of Staff," Fuad Shuker in Beirut on July 30th.
Update - 08:30: in a statement, Hezbollah said they intentionally fired the rocket "towards the Mossad" in symbolic support for Lebanese and Gazans, according to Army radio: "We fired a Cadre 1 ballistic missile at the headquarters of the Mossad that is responsible for the assassinations of the senior officials and the blasts of the beepers"
"For the time being, there is no change in the directives of the Home Front Command at the center and studies will be held as usual," the IDF Spokesman said in a brief statement.
All educational institutions across the north are closed due to the persistent enemy rocket fire deep into Israel over the last few days.
Update with video in comments: the IDF said aircraft have destroyed the launcher of the rocket aimed at Tel Aviv:
Undated archival photo of a meeting in Syria between senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) officer, Qasem Soleimani, and senior Hezbollah officials, Ibrahim Akal, Ahmed Wehbi, and Jawad al-Tawal. The IDF eliminated the latter three in targeted assassinations in recent days in Beirut. A US drone strike killed Soleimani at the Baghdad International Airport in January, 2020.

“This is the location of the Hezbollah launcher, from which the missile (or the heavy rocket) was fired towards the Gush Dan block this morning (September 25). The launcher is located in the village of Nafhia, east of Tyre, in the complex of a civilian building. This is another example of Hezbollah's use of the human shield. The launcher was destroyed by the IDF in a targeted attack.” (Alan Silver)
