IDF Jets Hammer Houthi Ports
The multiple bombing strikes came after the Iranian proxy fired a ballistic missile at Israel overnight, hitting a school.

“The Air Force attacked the port of Hodeidah and the city of Sana'a, the heart of the Houthi stronghold. The attack was carried out about 2,000 km from the territory of the State of Israel, deep inside Yemen,” according to Israeli Walla News analyst, Amir Buhbut.
“Dozens of fighter jets and other aircraft participated in the attack, which required aerial refueling.
"The Air Force had been planning the operation for several weeks.
"During the night, the Air Force also intercepted a surface-to-surface missile launched from Yemen using the Arrow system,” Buhbut said.
[In light of the Associated Press, quoting an American source that the US did not take part in the attacks in Yemen as reported earlier, I have corrected the headline - DB].
The Arrow missile hit the incoming weapon outside of Israeli airspace and the atmosphere. Some of the falling debris cone hit the unoccupied school and some vehicles in the vicinity.
“This is the eighth attack (either ballistic missile or drone) from the Houthis in Yemen in December alone, according to officials. The Houthis have fired over 200 surface-to-surface ballistic missiles and about 170 explosive drones at Israel since the beginning of the war,” according to Army Radio military correspondent, Doron Kadosh.
The moment the warhead - or heavy segments of the impacted incoming missile - hit the school (IDF Home Front Command assessors have not concluded their survey of the site):
“The Arab channel Al-Masira, which is affiliated with the Houthi terrorist organization in Yemen, reported on Wednesday night (between Wednesday and Thursday) the devastating results and damage caused by the Israeli attacks in their region that followed the launch of the ballistic missile from Yemen towards Israel,” Ch. 14 News in Israel reported.
“Seven people killed in the attack in the port of Salif. In addition, two other people were killed and one wounded in an attack on the Ras al-Issa oil facility. Other media outlets reported that all the tugs that bring the ships into the ports were damaged, causing the port to collapse and unusable,” according to the 07:00 Thursday morning update.
IDF: “A short while ago, following the approval of strike plans by the Israeli Minister of Defense Israel Katz, IAF fighter jets, with the direction of the Intelligence Directorate and the Israeli Navy, struck military targets belonging to the Houthi terrorist regime on the western coast and in inland Yemen.
“The Houthi terrorist regime has repeatedly attacked the State of Israel, including by attacking Israeli territory using UAVs and surface-to-surface missiles,” the army release stated, with “most of these projectiles successfully intercepted.”
“The targets struck by the IDF were used by the Houthi forces for military purposes,” the release said. “The strikes degrade the Houthi terrorist regime, preventing it from exploiting the targets for military and terrorist purposes, including the smuggling of Iranian weapons to the region.”
“Over the past year, the Houthi terrorist regime has been operating with the direction and funding of Iran, and in cooperation with Iraqi militias in order to attack the State of Israel and Israeli civilians, undermine regional stability and disrupt global freedom of navigation. The IDF is determined to continue operating against all threats posed to the citizens of the State of Israel, wherever necessary.”
