Life on the Border: Strength and Resilience in Nachal Oz - Zoom Interview
Living On The Edge: Meet The Volunteer Firefighters On Gaza's Border
In this episode of Life on the Border, we send our heartfelt support and strength to Raymond and Mirjam Reijnen, both integral members of their community who have shared their lives on Nachal Oz—a place where courage and resilience intersected daily: before, during, and in the wake of the Oct. 7th Hamas massacre.
🔥 About Our Guests: Mirjam and Raymond made Aliya (immigrated) from The Netherlands in 2018. Their journey led them to Nachal Oz, where they settled with their three children. Remarkably, Mirjam and Raymond both serve as volunteer firefighters—a testament to their commitment to their new home. They arrived just before the wave of balloon arson terror began, and today, they stand alongside their kibbutz community. Raymond splits his time between firefighting duties and the peaceful rhythm of milking cows on the kibbutz dairy farm.
🌟 Life Along the Border: Nachal Oz is more than a location; it’s where ordinary moments—like milking cows—become extraordinary acts of resilience. It’s where families find strength in unity, even amidst heartbreaking loss. And it’s where hope persists, even when the region seems engulfed in savagery.
