Reading the Scroll of Esther on Purim in Tzfat - Photography
Portraits of prayer in black and white: color gets the outside of the image, but black and white gets into the soul.
Members of my old synagogue in Tzfat reading the Megilat (Scroll of) Esther.

Our new home (photos coming) is about 30 seconds from here which makes rolling outta' bed and running over for 06:15 weekday services and 08:00 Shabbat and Chag (holiday) services much easier.

Turns out the guys all remembered me after five years away; (besides many I've kept in touch with or met regularly in the interim), and my pew was even unoccupied (!!👏). Speaking of which: it's a tiny place that holds maaaaybe 50 in a crush and underwent recent major renovations and the pews are brand new, as is the Torah ark, and the woodwork, ceramics and lots more - thanks to a donor. Suffice to say it used to be a kinda' soulful, but, umm, an aging and even dingy place - and the 1950s exterior is, well, still nothing to look at. But the soul of the facility lies in its occupants - and I clicked back into the soul groove of the place, well, immediately...
