Roots and Resilience After Oct. 7th: Kibbutz Alumim's Chronicle of Courage - Zoom Session
Veteran kibbutz member Cyril Young’s gripping account of the massacre and his son's part in the battle to save his village is etched in courage, survival, and unwavering commitment to community.
In this heartfelt Zoom meeting, we sit down with Cyril Young, a devoted, veteran member of Kibbutz Alumim, along the Gaza border. He shares his harrowing tale of surviving, along with wife, Marilyn, the Hamas terror invasion of their farming community on Oct. 7th, 2023.
While they sheltered in their safe room, their son Ayal, and other members of the village’s security team, survived serious wounds in the pitched firefight to help blunt, and ultimately, thwart the unprovoked attack against their community.
From their Aliya immigration from the UK to their current roles back in their home after months in internal exile during much of the war, their journey reflects the essence of Israel and Life on the Border. Tune in every week for stories of courage, community, and continuity.
