Two Days' Cost
The "asaJew" mistakes capitulation for sophistication, wondering if their tie is straight while the lynch mob gathers—forgetting that being "liked" by your haters is just a brief stay of execution.
Safed, Israel — Today is Yom HaShoah. Next week is Yom Hazikaron back-to-back with Yom Ha'atzmaut. In this sliver of land, we live in the parentheses between the cost of being - and refusing to be - a victim.
For those in the back - you know who you are - no: Israel and world Jewry are not responsible for lunatic, metastizing Jew-hatred. The “asaJew” crowd auditions for a “Good Jew” role that doesn’t exist, while the haters sharpen the same old knives. One group provides the gaslight, the other provides the apology, and both end up at the same station.
The soundscape of this morning is a cacophony of recursion. If you listen closely to the sirens wailing today, you can hear the faint, rhythmic clatter of iron wheels on European tracks—the ghostly echo of the cattle cars. It is a sonic segue from the bombs and explosions of a modern war for survival back to the industrial silence of the pits and crematoria.
But for those in the back—you know who you are, the “smart set” currently auditioning for the role of “Good Jew” in the theater of the absurd—let’s be clear: Israel and world Jewry are not the authors of this lunatic Jew-hatred.
Lunatic Jew-haters are responsible for lunatic Jew-hatred.
It is a simple equation that seems to baffle the cognitively colonized. We have reached a point where vast swaths of North American Jewry have been successfully weaponized by their own detractors and tormentors, turned into ideological mannequins for a movement that would just as soon see them in the “asaJew” section of a historical footnote.
It is an old story, really: the most educated are often the easiest to swindle. Having been taught that nuance is a virtue and self-reflection is a duty, they have been tricked into a perpetual state of “assuming the position.” Instead of thoroughly bitch-slapping the gaslighting, hypocritical cohorts they so desperately want to lunch with, they turn their gaze warily toward their own. They demand that Israel be suitably contrite, supine, and “better” than the reality of survival allows.
Sorry, kids: it doesn’t work that way.
No amount of Israeli policy shifts, wartime restraint, PR “influencer” junkets, or “Startup Nation” miracles will move the needle. You cannot out-innovate a blood libel. You cannot “dialogue” your way out of a struggle session with people who view your existence as a technicality they intend to correct.
Our foes—and I’m not just talking about the mullahs in Tehran and their local franchise owners—are not “depraved because they’re deprived.” That is a comfort-blanket lie for the Western mind. They are depraved because they have a clear, stated objective, and you enable it by consistently confusing spit for rain.
You take umbrage at those of us pointing out there isn’t a cloud in the sky, all while the water rises around your ankles, knees, and waists. Some of you are already floating, backs up.
If you want to honor the dead today, start by refusing to be the next generation’s cautionary tale. Stop apologizing for the audacity of staying alive.
Thanks for attending my TED talk. Now, look at the calendar and decide which cost you’re actually willing to pay - because, one way or another, that bill always comes due.

Snowflakes will do anything to delay being singled out for being beaten up or executed. Better to subjugate one's self than defend one's self. Because many Jews feel uncomfortable with defending themselves and standing their ground, they are more likely to subjugate themselves.
