I posted on FB: A bit of history re Jahya Sinwar, leader of Hamas in Gaza.

1. Yahya Sinwar was released from prison by Israel. He was originally sentenced to four life sentences for his involvement in the abduction and killing of two Israeli soldiers and four Palestinians in 1989. However, he was released in 2011 as part of a prisoner exchange deal for the Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.

2. Yes, Yahya Sinwar had a brain tumor that was removed by Israeli doctors. In 2004, while he was imprisoned in Israel, Dr. Yuval Bitton diagnosed him with a brain tumor and facilitated his transfer to a hospital where the tumor was successfully removed. This medical intervention saved Sinwar’s life.

3. The nephew of Dr. Yuval Bitton, the Israeli doctor who operated on Yahya Sinwar, is indeed a hostage. Dr. Bitton’s nephew, Tamir Adar, was taken hostage by Hamas during an attack on October 7, 202312. This tragic event has added a deeply personal dimension to Dr. Bitton’s story, given his previous life-saving medical intervention for Sinwar.

I'm not feeling your gratitude, Jahya.
